Review: Mamonde Creamy Tint Color Balm (Intense)

04:23

If you have been following Korean Beauty Youtubers or the Korean Beauty Trend, you might have come across this item as many of the korean beauty youtubers were raving about this item especially shade No.16 Velvet Red.

This item came famous at first because Park Shin Hye is the ambassador for Mamonde(just in case if you are not aware, Mamonde is a sub-brand under Amore Pacific, thus it is also a sister-brand towards Laneige and IOPE). Park Shin Hye wore this in the drama The Heirs and this item literally creates a trend in Korea.

Shade No.16 Velvet Red literally sold out at everywhere and everyone was so obsessed with this particular shade. Finally, I was able to grab it from Gmarket after a few times of restock. Together I have grabbed another two shades which are No.18 Velvet Cosmos and No.19 Velvet Burgundy.

If you have read my Gmarket Haul post, you would have know that each of this lipstick comes with a box of free skincare sample from Mamonde (if you havent read the post, click here.) Thus, I actually have received 3 boxes of skincare sample from Mamonde (which is very generous). A box of sample consists of a mini size of toner, a mini size of emulsion and a mini size of cream.

Packaging wise, it is very similar to NARS lip crayon. Some even said that shade No.16 Velvet Red is actually a dupe for NARS Dolce Vita which is a dusty rose color lip product. Of course, Mamonde is way cheaper than NARS. Unlike NARS lip crayon that has to be sharpened every once it is blunt (just like a pencil), Mamonde Creamy Tint Color Balm is a twist up design which it will not waste any product at all.

Here are the swatches of the color balm on hand. Shade No.16 Velvet Red is a dusty rose color, No.18 Velvet Cosmos is a nude pink color and No.19 Velvet Burgundy is a plum red color.

The color balm has a velvet matte finish and glides on the lips easily. Although all of the above three shades are from the same line, No.18 Velvet Cosmos accentuate the lip lines and dry patches more than the other two shades. It is better to prep the lips beforehand with lip balm so that the lip lines and dry patches are less obvious.

The color balm is very long lasting as well. It is transfer-proof and able to last through few drinks. But it definitely couldn't last through a meal.

Pros:
1. Reasonable price
2. Very pigmented
3. Wide range of color
4. Glides on smoothly
5. User friendly
6. Minimum touch up required

Cons:
1. May accentuate dry patches for extremely dry lips

Repurchase? Yes. Would definitely wanna try more shades.

Cheers <3
